Of course, everyone’s Mom’s meatloaf is the best — but mine really is. Try it — serve it with baked potatoes and green beans for a winter, comfort dinner.

  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1/2 lb. ground veal
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup chili sauce

Cut the crusts off the bread, break into cubes, place in a large bowl with the warm water. Add the onion, eggs, ground beef, pork, and veal, and salt and pepper. Mix well.

Press this mixture into a 8-inch bread pan, cover with chili sauce, and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 to 55 minutes.
