Italian Radishes with Sweet Butter and Sea Sal

I will never forget first seeing a photo of a French family eating this, in a Time-Life cookbook. I couldn't believe that they really eat this. Now, that I have tried it, it is a favorite of summer!


  • 1 baguette
  • 1/2 stick sweet butter
  • 1 bunch Italian radishes
  • coarse salt


Wash the radishes and arrange on a plate. Also, provide a small plate of butter, a container of salt and sliced baguette. The eater spreads butter on the bread, covers with sliced radishes and sprinkles with coarse salt.
